What would we do without healthcare? Many analysts say that the standard of a country’s hospital facilities says a lot about its healthcare system in general – we cannot agree more.
In recent times, regional or global pandemics such as the Avian Influenza, Ebola, and currently, the Novel Coronavirus, have exposed the standards of healthcare sectors across the world.
Apart from structures and equipment, a good healthcare system should have adequate professionals and support personnel to handle emergencies and reduce casualties.
In recent times, however, the searchlight has beamed on the state of hospital facilities in countries all over the world – more so African countries. The results have further debunked the claims by critics who assumed that the healthcare sector in Africa has remained in a sorry state.
Many critics and observers expressed surprise at how the continent was able to handle the Ebola outbreak, and currently tackling the spread of Covid-19. The handling of the latter, which many observers said has shocked the world.
